About the Annual Meeting
NASPE invites member states to submit proposals to host its 50th Annual Meeting in July 2027—a golden-milestone gathering where state HR leaders connect, share best practices, and strengthen our nationwide community.
Host State Responsibilities
- Partner with NASPE on city selection, hotel options, off-site/social venues, and local keynote possibilities (please do not contact hotels/venues directly).
- Provide limited on-site support (registration/host tables, basic A/V, photos); typically 1–2 staff Sunday–Wednesday.
- Serve as Host State Chair on the Executive Committee (2026–2027) and participate on the Meetings Committee.
NASPE’s Role & Support
NASPE manages hotel contracting, logistics, registration, sponsorships, promotion, and overall program coordination—leveraging national hotel partnerships for pricing and availability. NASPE signs all contracts and oversees budgets.
Preparing to Bid: What to Include
- Proposed city and rationale
- Airport accessibility/airlines
- Potential meeting hotels/venues (do not contact hotels—NASPE/partner will solicit bids)
- Area attractions for social events (do not contact venues)
- On-site support your team can provide
Workflow
January 2026 (Mid-Year): Executive Committee review—please plan for a host representative to attend.
Feb–May 2026: NASPE site visit(s) and hotel contract finalization.
Selection Criteria
- Accessibility from a major airport and regional rotation balance
- Quality/cost of lodging and meeting accommodations
- Proximity to restaurants, attractions, and social experiences
- Availability of suitable conference dates
- Host state engagement and volunteer capacity
- Likelihood to attract strong attendance
